Learning Intentions
I am learning to use language features to make my writing interesting and engaging for the reader.
I am learning to think carefully about the words I use so that my writing is descriptive and engaging for the reader.
I am learning to add an appropriate visual to my work
I will be successful when I can show….
-I have used some language features to make my writing interesting and engaging (smile, metaphor, alliteration, onomatopoeia, rhyme)
-I have carefully chosen some interesting words to include in my writing
-I have some descriptive words in my writing (adjectives)
My hands.
My hands, my hands, not too tanned. You steer my bike to school. You let me glide through the water like a dolphin after its dive. You help me turn pages in a book. You feel the beautiful New Zealand ferns . You hands feel the soft sand on the beach. You are strong enough. Even though you are small, I still like you all.
Great writing, David! I love your use of repetition. Even though this is a short piece of writing it tells the reader a lot about you. When I read this with you last week I was impressed that you were able to so clearly show how you have met the learning intentions. Next time you may like to try using metaphor - they're tricky, but effective.
